He said he won't come back to England.

He said he played for Man U, the biggest club in England and if he returned he could only go to a smaller club. He wants to stay at the top clubs.

He has been at Man U, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy. They are all top teams in their respective countries.

Did anyone see this on SSN this morning?

A fan runs on the pitch and attack's the Alkmaar keeper. He retaliates giving him a kicking on the floor, then the ref sends him off for violent conduct.

The Alkmaar players go crazy and the manager brings the players off and the game is abandoned. That's going to be an interesting one for FIFA to sort out.

im on the keeper's side. The fan looked like he was gonna attack the keeper, and the keeper tried getting rid of him. Bit like Brian Clough did back in the day.

Clough didn't kick the s**t out of the fan when he was on the floor though.

Do you remember Cantona's kung fu kick?

so what the fan jumped onto the pitch, and grabbed the keeper, so the keeper probably thought he was trying to attack him!!

Outside of a football ground, that would be considered assault what the keeper did regardless of the fan hitting him.

The fan attacked him first...what else was the keeper supposed to do? Let the fan hit him. The thug deserved to get kicked...it's his own fault for running onto the pitch.

He should have used reasonable force to restrain him. His actions just make him as bad as the fan.

If the fan didn't run onto the field, it never would have happened. The 'fan' deserved what he got.

Maybe, but that's not how the law works. Not if it was this country anyway. Dutch law may have some sort of "eye-for-an-eye" jurisdiction.

I am split on the issue, my immediate thought was that he shouldnt of kicked the fan but then it was pointed out to me that how did the keeper know that the fan didnt have a knife.

Whilst I dont condone his actions, I cant say that I wouldnt of done the same thing.

i think surely we can safely say, if we were in the goalkeeper's position we would have done the same thing
