This is what happens when every manager in the 92 clubs from the Premier League down to the second division is white....

There is a need for positive discrimination, to get the faces of the managers to reflect the faces of the players. There is a need for more black managers, because if there were more black managers around, people like Malkie will be less likely to do this offensive rubbish. If the LMA had any black managers in their ranks, there's no way they would've tried to defend this, and then they wouldn't have to apologise.

Then there's the homophobia, the sexism, etc...English football has a lot to address.

So then should positive discrimination also include a certain number of homosexual managers and a certain number of female managers?

you are being racist again Mike, since you want a white man either sacked or to miss out on appointment in favor of a less talent black man.

Positive discrimination doesn't exsist, it's just discrimination, I don't understand your grievance against white people.

With out a doubt there is a lack of black managers in football relative to the amount of black players. Im not sure positive discrimination is the way forward. But things need to be done to readdress the balance. Why are there not more black managers?

Perhaps initiatives like this will start to readdress the problems in football:

I suppose it doesn't help that the black managers that have been given a go (Powell, Hughton, Ince etc) have all been hopeless.

:facepalm Oh dear that is soooooo not......

Of course there have been far fewer crappy white managers. I think American managers and Oz managers are the best in the premiere league, after all there have been far fewer crappy ones than the Brits. :D

I wrote that to highlight how silly this discussion can git.

If anyone out there is a little in the dark (pun intended) of how few opportunities black men are given in society then tune your channel to Ferguson Missouri. The police force of white/black ratio to the population of white/black is alarming to put it mildly. This is just one area of the USA. I wont even begin to talk about New Orleans.

I know. A post of 'has been appointed' should surely follow a post of 'on the verge of being appointed'?

Football fans....
"The abuse was triggered by Balotelli's reaction to Manchester United's shock defeat by Leicester. The Italy forward, part of the Liverpool side which lost 3-1 at West Ham on Saturday, tweeted: 'Man Utd...LOL' in response to United's 5-3 loss at the King Power Stadium. His tweet was met by a string of racist messages, including one from an account called @CraigSainsbury which read: 'F*** you Mario you f****** n*****. Got eat some bananas and get ebola you dirty monkey.'"

Most certainly the latter, there is always someone who gets off on this type of behaviour.
