They happened within a week of each other, i think but for some reason the Suarez case has now got all of the publicity and i don't have a clue what happened to JT's case.

That's no reason to want someone banned. It's beyond stupid.

That said, he's received an 8 match ban.

Hmm.

Should go down to 6 on appeal I guess.

Big big blow to Liverpool's chances of 4th.

I guess they will buy someone in January as Carroll has done nothing this year. They could go in with Kuyt and Bellamy but that would be too risky.

I'd say more than a big, big blow. I'd say it ends it.

But look, if he's guilty - and that's what he's been found to be - then he deserves the punishment.

8 games seems a lot considering it's not a racist remark in his country but he should have maybe realised it's not to be said in England.

He probably knew it was a racist remark. He just used that as an excuse to try and get away with it.

Actually, thinking about it some more, potentially five of these eight matches could be cup matches (depending on a) how Liverpool's immediate FA cup campaign turns out, and b) when the appeal is heard). So it might not be doom and gloom with regards to 4th place.

Both legs of their league-cup semi-final, and their 3rd round FA cup are both currently scheduled to coincide with ban, whilst a 3rd round replay and/or a 4th round match would as well.
