We had to make the most of the conditions by picking at least two early wickets, instead this has been wasted by giving 5 runs per over for 9 overs bowled.

Need atleast 3 wickets this session to get back in the match. Anything less than that would be another bad session.

yes, muddled thinking again from ind with the slip[s in the wrong place (i.e. too close together so creating gaps - Ind really need to sort that slip cordon out!

Bowling with the new ball was too loose, Eng got off to a flier when they should have been under pressure.

What is up with Ashwin - apparently he's got some hip issue and is off to the indoor nets to test it out ... need to get him back quick.

Rahane and Kohli, India's best two batsmen came together at around 80/3 yesterday and put on a stack.

Can England's best two batsmen Root and Bairstow do the same?

Probably not!

Pant keeping been pretty good.
nothing like scaremongers were suggesting.

about time we pick a good young batsman that can keep and work with their keeper in the international levels.

Saha isn't a test keeper bat and Karthik and parthiv are too old to invest time on.

Don't think Ashwin gonna bowl much in this test, he didn't look comfortable in that footage sky just showed.

Not sure I would rush ashwin now, let him rest indoors, unlikely he going to bowl in the next few hours anyway, he can test the bowling tomorrow or in the 2nd innings.

Root's attitude on that catch was ridiculous - it looked out and the fingers were underneath - commentators are sure it was out too but Root's attitude had the crowd booing the umpires decision :no

4 wickets in session. This is just awesome session. Now probably we can get some lead. Just don't need another Jonny - Woakes type of partnership.

I think that is a little harsh. I think it was probably out and certainly there was insufficient evidence to overrule the soft signal but it wasn't clear from the slow motion replay. There was plenty of cheering from England supporters on showing the replay thinking the ball had bounced. That is why they were booing and not necessarily Root's reaction.

Was just listening to the Eng commentator who was saying that he was pretty sure that the Eng suppirters watching the same reply with Root taking the catch would have been sure it was out.

I just think that in the last test (?) Dhawan caught one that looked out but said he wasn't sure so they went through the replays (which are hardly ever conclusive and make most low catches look like the ball may have bounced) and gave it not out. Therefore, given the level of honesty, and the fact that in real time that just looked out, I don't think Root covered himself in glory there in terms of sportsmanship with all the head shaking and bitter muttering as if he'd been horrendously wronged.
