thought there would have been a bigger crowd considering this is the first test to be played at this ground

just not selected

i would have him in my team before shaun marsh any day

Khawaja showed in SL that he is not suited to pitches like this, whilst S Marsh record against spin is so much better.

Im no fan of S marsh, or any Marsh for that matter, but i think this is the right decision.

Now watch him get out.

Looking at the turn, Australia will not last the day.

Considering their penchant for massive collapses and the fact the tail starts at 6. And with this amount of turn on day 1, i would be surprised if India are not batting by close of play.

Seems like it is too hot for the crowd, looks like most of the crowd near the shade.

unlikely to get a big crowd, might be pune first test but the area get a lot of cricket, it essentially got 2 IPL teams, Mumbai is quite close to pune.
Apparently it is quicker for people travelling from Navi mumbai to get into the pune stadium than Wankhede.

i said during the england tests that kohli looks like he doesn't want to say no to the bowlers when they are adamant about using a referral and thats twice today he looked like he didn't want to review the decisions but got talked into it

for someone that comes across as a really strong character i'm surprised he lets that happen

if the bowlers are not careful they'll end up in a cry wolf situation where he wont use a referral in case its being wasted for one that really is out

No excuses, poor crowd but not sure pune is the greatest place to build a new stadium or be a new test ground, especially when the stadium is quite near pune and it basically tries to get crowd from Mumbai.

What.

yeah it true they tested it around the ipl time.
Navi mumbai is next to the highway that goes to pune takes about 1 hr 10 or 15 mins to the pune stadium. take about 1 hours 30 mins to go from Navi mumbai to mumbai city centre with the mumbai traffic lol.
apparently it was quicker for them to travel to watch pune Warriers games than watch mumbai indians play lol.
