After that splendid opening from Anderson and Broad, England have lost the plot. Stokes is trying to take wickets rather than concentrating on putting the ball in good places. Bowling straight to Smith is bowling to his strength.

Still expect him to throw it away before lunch, probably to Root too.

Getting close to lunch and Australia will be happy to be just one down ; as England have actually bowled pretty well. With a bit of luck they could have easily had a couple more by now.

This looks like being hard work for the bowlers now the new ball is gone. But this and the next are really the key partnerships ; so two wickets would really shift the momentum...

And here is one ! Moeen gets Warner :joydance
