Same thing happened last year in the India test.
Basin reserve really becomes a flat deck in the last 2 days with it being a green deck in the first 2 days.

TBH the pitches in New Zealand are starting to be a joke now in the last 3 years many of the games are being boring draws.

All england vs New Zealand games draws.
india 2 test matches were played in flat pitches although both teams had low scores in first innings but massive scores in the 2nd innings.
Even south africa only won 1-0 in a 2 or 3 test match series recently.

If new zealand pitches were in england, India or subcontinent they would be a massive uproar about the pitches.

I really hate the green decks either put lots of water in it so it is a green deck for all 5 days or don't leave so much grass on day 1 since it really flatten the pitch on day 4 and 5 it is joke that team haven't won matches in NZ despite having strong first 3 days India, Sri lanka in the last 2 years and new Zealand/England both missed one opportunity each 2 yrs ago.

this pitch still has something in it if you bowl well...the sri lankans didn't bowl well yesterday, and weren't helped by the very defensive captaincy of Mathews even at the start of play yesterday...Sangakarra looked very frustrated at the field settings of Mathews and he wasn;t the only one...there is still some movement for the seamers if you bowl well...the sri lankan bowlers were poor yesterday

Hopefully nz win then would be a joke if Sri Lanka get a easy draw after 15 wickets fell in day 1.
Either way nz pitches are getting too many draw in the last 15 years and they been bad draw as well where the pitches on day 5 have been generally quite easy to bat on.
