Perfect day (between "showers") for England. Still have to bat , to take advantage...but weather is supposed to be better Saturday .
Think Indian bowlers will find some help from the pitch still so no guarantees. But a big chance to take a grip if the batsmen can play sensibly and temper the "positivity" with some judgement. A few of them need some runs...

Why aren't they starting early to make up time today ? Heaven knows they've lost enough overs already...

because they aren't interested in doing anything that might suggest they have the interests of either the game or the punters at heart

besides... if they started early enough, they might even get 90 overs in, and that would never do

I don't think India got the selection right

Pandya as third seamer in England, on paper he's just not good enough

Surely umesh had to stay in the side and jadeja come in for pandya

Especially since ishant can't exactly be relied on to bowl well

As if they just reviewed that

Cook should've told him to just walk off

Game moving along nicely, England need to be positive, try and score at 4 an over if possible.

I'd take 200 all out around tea and get India back in again.

Not sure we'll get more than 3 or 4 hours play altogether on days four and five.

In saying that the weather forecast for Monday is looking a bit better than it did when I looked earlier.

Looks like we're back to proper English summer weather with the key word "changeable"!

I'd be targeting to bat all day for 300 and then I'd declare.

Indian batting line up looks terrible. I doubt if back then heavily to score 200 if the ball moves

Probably equivalent to a fifty in a higher scoring game.

What's happened there, kept very low for that length

Absolutely nothing root could do about that
