If Aus can hold the Kiwis to less than 130 in the LAST 25 overs after being only 2 down, there must be something in the pitch - which you'd expect that the Unzud bowlers would be far better at exploiting. Or were NZ just crap?

I think these proves, as said above, how beneficial the pitches were to Australia at home.

This should be a real test for this young set of Aussies. I expect a comeback.

Nothing new here - except Aus have been going to extreme flatness.

Even 10 years ago, there would be five distinctly different pitches for a five test series - Gabba would have early swing, continual seam movement and decent pace, WACA would have pace and bounce, pace and pace, Adelaide would be a road for 3-4 days and produce a result (often an exciting one), Sydney used to be a spinners paradise.

And Melbourne was Melbourne.

Not surprised with the one sided result. New Zealand have played at home for 2 months and Australia had only 5 days turnover time between the final India T20 and the 1st New Zealand ODI with no warm up game. Surely this series could have started a week later and a couple of Twenty20 matches added for good measure, instead of Australia jetting off to South Africa straight after the Trans-Tasman series just to play three T20is.

For once, there is actual and confirmed acrimony between Smilin George and a member of the Aus team.

Seems that Snarlin Dave had a go at Georgie in the changeroom about not telling Warner to review the LBW decision. Georgie says he told Warner "go for it" and Warner left the ground....



I am not sure that Wee Davie is the fastest bouncer in the bowler's armoury though.

I'd spotted that, but I don't like to spread rumours of disharmony.

It's always George that's involved. Which makes you think.

Wee Davie said to the the press that he was seeking to be a role model to the others, so that's not making a good start.
