I genuinely feel that the only reason why Dhoni is captain is due to question marks over Kohli's captaincy skills.

lolz question mark over kohli captaincy skill.
the only reason Dhoni is captain because he is still in india best 11 in odi and the fact they don't want to remove the captainacy away from him yet since kohli will get it later on anyway.

Dhoni might be average or poor right now in odi cricket but he still by far india best bat in the lower/middle order.

Even dhoni knows he past it but he also knows the others are even more shite, lets not forget the likes of Axar patel, jadeja, binny, R Dhawan etc are not good enough and that most of the people pushing for odi spots are top order or opening batsman and can't bat at 6 or 7 to save their lives.

it just that india batting is too top heavy and doesn't have the hitting power like other teams.

They also have to keep Dhoni in the side because there's not really any other keepers in india, who are knocking down the door...

Uthappa - been tried and tested so many times, plus he isn't a frontline keeper..

Saha- Hasn't performed when selected in Tests, can't see that changing in Odi's...

Ojha - constantly around the A sides, but never given a go at international level.... Is it time he was given a go?
