Carse looks dangerous when he pitches it up

Don't think all the bouncers are necessary

Need them 4 down at lunch having bowled first ideally

If you're bowling first ideally you want them out for less than 275 so they will need to bowl much better in the next 2 sessions.

Having them edge behind and not reviewing doesn't help

odd that they've only now called Robbo up to replace Cox. Cox was ruled out of the series a while ago, I think. Feels far too last minute to have been a considered decision

50 partnership, off 12 overs, between the old and new stars of NZ cricket.

Smith is on paternity leave as far as I know

New Zealand to make 400 then England to get bowled out inside 60 overs giving the bowlers no rest is my prediction

Hopefully I'm wrong

None of the seamers have been able to consistently hit a good line and length which is dissapointing

Woakes continues to look ineffective away from home. You'd think he'd be well suited to new Zealand but averaged 60 in the 3 games he'd played before this one.

4 for Bashir!

Typical hagley park wicket...looks green starts moving then flattens right out....Bashir always seems more content on pitches that don't turn lots...pressure off he seems to thrive...stokes constantly looks angry and riled up at the moment very un-stokes like

I noticed that England managed to bowl an impressive (ahem, ahem) 24 overs before lunch. I'll bet that they had to add at least half an hour and maybe more on at the end in order to end up only 7 overs short for the day..... and.... Bashir bowled more overs than anyone. They really do take the ssip :no

So they'd only be 5 short if they didn't keep overstepping.

Mixed day. Probably slightly NZ's, runs on the board and England batting last, but if England can wrap up the innings quickly they'll probably be happy to keep NZ below 350. Never know until both teams have batted.
