yeah the pitches played better than what NZ were expecting and even then NZ still thought batting was very tough with the ball turning from day 1. :facepalm

Internal BCCI politics seem to be putting the series in doubt. https://stancarey.wordpress.com/2016/08 ... explained/

Very u likely to be called off but still amateur hour.

wrong link assuming you mean the one where the MOU not been signed.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/conte ... 64637.html

not really a big deal since the tour will happen and that BCCI will likely pay for everything ECB wants just that the series won't have the legal binding contract like it normally does for bilateral series.
They will never cancel the series the tour makes too much money for BCCI and ECB.
the fact they still schedule the games, england are in india already with no MOU says a lot.
any other series and the fixture, Grounds, tickets etc wouldn't even be sold without a MOU agreement.

Quite funny though since lodha blaming BCCI for not signing it yet and BCCI blaming lodha for not signing it yet.
really seems like BCCI leaking the news to get bad press for the lodha committee.
really if the tour was to get cancelled because of it, England players wouldn't even be in Mumbai when the contract for the tour not signed yet.

Anyway surprise the Mou not signed considering i thought the contract was signed couple of years ago, ECB management at the moment said they can't change the schedule and had to live with it since Giles clarke and N srinivasan signed the contract couple of years ago to maximise income for both boards.

so either the Mou left to sign is quite unimportant which the cricinfo article suggest it is or ECB are taking a massive risk touring india with no assurances BCCI will provide them safety, hotel, fixtures or anything that is normally expected in a bilateral tour.

Not really sure what side I be backing in this since both sides are right and both side are wrong, think cricket will be losing out considering at the moment none of the cricket states in india got money or can spend money on the cricket with BCCI funds to State cricket being frozen.
Entire situation is in a mess right now.

So is the BCCI asking for the ECB to pay for their own accommodation and all expenses outside of the games?

ECB should sue the BCCI then.

Imagine if this was the other way around?

Suspect bcci will just pay the Money back in a later date.
Doubt ecb can sue bcci considering they be the ones losing out the most and probably haven't signed the legal document yet saying bcci has to pay for it.
Very surprised ecb set foot in India without the contract signed and none of the English press are worried or even written a piece, so it probably isn't a big deal.
Really sounds like bcci threatening lodha over this mou just like they threatened to cancel the NZ series when their bank accounts were frozen before.

good article on it.
An article on Cricinfo said that an MoU is only used in case of a dispute between the two boards involved in a bilateral series. "BCCI and ECB officials were not available for comment about whether an unsigned MoU could jeopardise England's tour of India, but an official from another board said an international tour could still proceed without it," the website said.

although they mention a source from the lodha committee saying Thakor and shirke action are placing the tour in jeopardy.

TMS tweeted this.
England say it's "business as usual" despite some reports in Indian newspapers that tour may be in doubt because of BCCI financial issues

Dobell thinks it is pr from bcci and that bcci got a contract with all the hotels so ecb won't have to pay a penny.

Who said that? I didn't see any NZ players complaining. Seriously, this victimist attitude from BCCI fans is nauseating. I didn't see pitches in SL or BD recently being criticised either. Mohali and Nagpur went way too far last year, admit it.

Well NZ players were not complaining but they did say it was tough batting conditions with the ball turning from day 1.
Latham, Williamson all said that.

Don't think I heard one NZ player say batting was easy.
