I think it would quite tickle me if WI batted for 2 days and set up a 350 lead, then gave England 2 days to save a test match or avoid an innings defeat.

Two centurions apparently leading West Indies to a match winning lead ...quite the turnaround from Edgbaston.

Long way to go ,of course. New ball might cause a clatter ; England might bat big second time around. Struggling teams often find it hard to sustain strong performance over five days.

But right now , with Anderson out of the attack , England look a bit toothless. And runs are coming quickly enough : hard to see a lead of less than a hundred from this position ; and England batting hasn't responded well to scoreboard pressure recently...

Moeen probably the best chance for a wicket - that review wasn't that far away though it always looked impact just outside . But I'd still have looked to see Root try himself for a couple instead of messing about with Westley.

England have been hopelessly poor when behind the game for years. They haven't batted to save a game since 2013, and even coming back from a first innings deficit has been very rare.

Time for the batsmen to stand up in the second innings. A gutsy century here to get England out of what will be a decent deficit will certainly get the selectors' attention for Oz.
