A sign of the future?

Yes, I'm not surprised at all - they have been making huge strides and have had quite a bit of excitinmg young talent in the very recent past so I thought they would do well and unearth some more gems.

The indian side doesn't look quite as potent as last time - the fast bowlers are certainly not quite as fearsome as in the last U19WC

WI are apparently very strong as well but I've not seen them play yet

Aus holding India well at the moment. 132/5 from 35 overs. India have lost more wickets this match than the rest of the tournament.

India did well - fought back the last 10 overs or so of their innings to post 233, which proved to be far too much for Aus.

Yes, Aus had an absolutely disatrous start to their innings and that finished it really - run out first ball and then another 2 wickets in the first over and another one in the third over! Although the figures look great I still think the ind seamers don't look as scary as their counterparts from the last U19 WC

Jaiswal going great guns - reminds me on Shubman Gill - both from the Dravid school of batting

Wow, I didn't watch the Aus innings, I needed the sleep. Carnage at the start.

West indies 238 all out.

McKenzie 99, and cramping at the end.

Clarke 4-25

amazing performance from the NZ tail-enders to get them home, 9 and 10 must have put on about 80 in good time to get them home - WI will be devasted to lose from that position.

2002—Cameron White 423 - Flop

Interesting list. Cameron White didn't have a bad career though.

I think I've heard of Burnham through the Durham thread.

Australia made a bit of a meal chasing Afghanistan's 191, leaving it to the penultimate ball. By far the most impressive looking batsman was Afghanistan captain Farhan Zakhil who got 91.

Has been a disappointing tournament for the Aussies.....I mean not as disappointing as England's but disappointing none the less.

Afghanistan dominated South Africa in the 7th place play off today.

The South African batsmen were embarrassed by the Afghanistan bowlers - led by 4-15 from Shafiqullah Ghafari - and were skittled all out for 154.

Afghanistan chased down the paltry total in 40 overs.

In his previous game against the South Africans Ghafari got 6 wickets. Not a bad yield for the young man. He is the joint highest wicket taker in the competition with 16.
