I suppose in one respect its kinda fitting that Clarke and Smith basically compile the winning partnership together , Clarke who is retiring gets out just before the end and Smith, the future captain sees them home.

The final is a disappointing one-sided match...there were far too many one-sided matches in this World Cup.

To be fair the two best teams contested the final. It's just that Australia still seem to be way above everyone else in ODIs.

Next time England will be guaranteed a semi final because the ICC will give them a bye to maintain local interest.
