England have been hopelessly poor when behind the game for years. They haven't batted to save a game since 2013, and even coming back from a first innings deficit has been very rare.

Time for the batsmen to stand up in the second innings. A gutsy century here to get England out of what will be a decent deficit will certainly get the selectors' attention for Oz.

And hopefully it's from one of Stoneman, Westley or Malan, because we desperately need some confidence in the top order going into the Ashes.

Some of those English journalists and former cricketers perhaps haven't seen Shai Hope, Blackwood, Kraigg Brathwaite, Gabriel or even the wholehearted Bishoo. I don't know but the criticism was too harsh.

I mean S Hope is one of the most promising batsmen I have seen from WI in the recent past. His average doesn't tell the story but that 90 against Pakistan - a game I covered, was a special knock. When someone plays like that, you know he has potential.

I remember when you covered that and I remember when you said that about Shai Hope.

It's been two good days of cricket for the west indies. I hope tomorrow is another one.

Nice to see the arrogance of last week is fast disappearing. Last week this band of no hopers werent even fit to grace of soil.... now they are dishing out a bit of payback!! Good to see.... Although I cant help but think that the last two days show more how poor the three sides involved this summer have been.

As Durham says, teams just dont seem capable of coming from behind nowadays. Very few days of grit in test cricket at the moment.

crazy how many times I seen teams produce something extra or feel extra motivated to beat england.
never expected this type of performance from WI.

if WI do beat england, not sure it can be said england are strong at home now, or at least compared to other team.
think if wi win all team would have beaten england at england, excluding ban/Zim and they haven't played here since 2009.
england might be winning series but they been giving the opposition test matches or hope of winning games.
