Yes they do

Have you ever seen the verdict? It's just that we are winning at the moment

At least we aren't like India whose commentators are contractually hamstrung by the bcci and cant say anything

LOL if you believe that ECB and BCCI are literally the same thing.
the commentators might not be harsh but the newspapers the 20 Sport news channel covering the india team are constantly critizing the team, they literally make a mountain of a molehill to get ratings and people watching it.
When india plays cricket I recommend you watch NDTV on channel 511 on Sky.

The person that only criticises stuff is Willis and that is only because of a running joke on Sky about him being moody etc.
When did you see them attack Cook during is poor period, or Bell or when England batting been struggling for the last 4 years.
Sky is better than the papers but even they have been quiet on the topics ECB don't like the press talking about.

TBH Don't really get why BCCI/ECB like to control the media it is not like they would be constantly attacking the board or selection issues.

The fact we are now good at white ball cricket as well means the team is getting little or no criticism as they are successful

At the end of the day

We hold every test trophy bar the one we are currently playing for

And are playing great white ball cricket

So criticism of the team will be at an all time low

Really I don't remember anyone suggesting bell to get dropped barring Syld berry before 2013 Ashes to drop him because of some lame reason that didn't make sense.

If I remember correctly Botham and few others in the box were surprised he was struggling to get dropped in the first place.
I read the english press a lot and Bell hardly got mentioned for the chop either.

We need a miracle now as I don't see Moeen and Woakes lasting long. So Amir gets Cook, that'll teach him to want him banned for life.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Seriously? surely winning aboard should be seen as the pinnacle especially in Asia.
Would thought they would get more criticism.

Hopefully England cricket doesn't become like Australia then when only home games matter or have any viewership or interest in the country.

Bit harsh to say the least.

Not really

Pretty 40s and 50s aren't good enough for a player of his class

Especially since the bowlers aren't getting him out he is getting himself out

Has to be more ruthless

It happens now and again in a career, he has earnt the right for us to not criticize him on the back of one or two poor dismissals.

Besides Steve Smith has had his moments too.

It's not one or two it's been a lot

His conversion of 50s to hundreds has been bad for a while

England we're losing, from the SA series in 2012, until the Ashes win last summer, but the media hardly touched them. Ex players in the media were then taken into the dressing room and flattered, Strauss told Agnew he was part of the positive image of English cricket, actually on air, but this has been going on a while. Most of this stuff was in a thread 'close your eyes and think of England'.
I always say that everybody's right.
