I never understand the modern convention of not having a third man. It gives so many runs away, and essentially rewards every bad shot with a 4

Last time I worked at twickenham remember the entire bar staff till was emptied since we kept on giving pounds back some people had 20-30 cups.
Although we only allowed to give 20 pounds back to each person but people could just go to another bar and get the refund again.
Think they said in the first time they did it during the World Cup rugby kids were caught going in the bins getting the cups and they had to place a limit to stop people claiming 100s of pounds of them.

Gods knows why compass groups loves them.

When I used to play cricket, as an offspinner I hated nothing more than when the captain put the offside sweeper back on the boundary between deep extra cover or deep cover position. A deep point there for the short ball that could be cut, I could just about accept, but the man out well in front of square made my lose my sh*t. If someone wants to drive against the direction of the spin, then let them. Putting a man back out to "protect" against it caused a lot of arguments.

The most frustrating thing was when a stupid batsman then flashes at one, and the edge goes all the way through the vacant slip for four.....

If someone wants to loft an off drive over the in field to the boundary like Sehwag, then fair ducks..... if he was that good, the exact placing of the fielders to my bowling wouldnt have mattered anyway
