Looks like Australia will get that substantial boost to their NRR that they need.

Aus sure are no certainties for Saturday's game. Windies would be keen to finish the tournament with a big game.

Even if Aussies lose they will still go through if England beat SA.

Yes, now that they have had their NRR-boosting win.

If Australia Beat the Windies, South Africa would have to thrash England. The last group match may be a bit of a fizzer.

You think that will work twice ? The hex on Bangladesh was a ripper :)

I do think Australia will take West Indies though. Guess maybe the WI style of "bash everything" might come off occasionally ; but I don't think much of their bowling - or fielding! - so I reckon they'd need big runs to bother Australia.

England logical favourites to beat SA so Aussies might not even need the win : but they will want to make sure of it.

A pity that Bangladesh have been so abject. This group was very even on paper but they have been 2 points on a plate for everyone.

Trying to the maths in my head, I think the Windies gain 0.5 RR with every 20-25 runs the win by.

So really, they need to beat SL by 50-75 runs at least (or bowl them out cheaply and win back 10 overs) and then beat Australia by 25-50 runs.

Obviously a potential win margin v Australia reduces Aussie RR in proportion to the Windies rises, so without getting calculators out this might be wrong.

Indeed. Maybe if they can in some way bat 200 in 10 overs, they are good
