Looked as if they were going to post a fair score when Brathwaite and Bravo were going ... but rather fizzled out as the day went on. Samuels continues to be a waste of space ; and Blackwood again failed to get going - he has been the biggest disappointment to me on this tour.

So much rain forecast they might not have time to lose this one though :)

Lyon looking very impressive. Be very interested to see how he fares with Kohli et al later in the year.

Best day for the West Indies thus far, building on the positives of the second innings in the last Test. Braithwaite continues to look like a really good test opener and in any other side I imagine he would be one of the best in the world. Shame that there is so little support for him aside from Bravo.

Samuels continues to be a complete waste of space in this side, terrible performance coupled to a terrible attitude he needs dropping.

Just saw a replay of the Lyon delivery to bowl Blackwood. Very nice.

He has certainly come into his own this past couple of years. Very important for Aus now. Probably their most important bowler.

Looks like that's going to be it for this series. Patchy spells of cricket in between the showers for next two days

Forecast for today and tomorrow is nearly constant rain. No chance of a result here, so the West Indies will escape the 3-0.

If today and tomorrow are absolutely washed out (as seems highly likely), will they even turn up on the fifth day or just declare the match washed out? It seems completely pointless turning up on day 5 with the first of four innings still incomplete, and no chance of anything other than a draw. No-one will turn up to watch.

Looks like it is only going to rain today until 5pm. Not sure I will stay up for that. Always knew the SCG wasn't fit for cricket.
