Well that was easy

Honestly a bit shocked by that chase : I thought it looked a good batting pitch and reckon England had done quite well to keep India to 168 despite Pandya's late charge... but Hales and Buttler simply blew them away ! Looked as if the belief in the Indian camp died around seven or eight overs in and it turned into a long victory lap...

As an England fan I am delighted of course ; but from a neutral perspective it is perhaps a pity that both semi finals have been so one-sided , after all the thrilling contests in qualifying. One might hope for a keenly contested final.

And looking at the weather forecast , hope we actually have a final !

With Rohit, Kohli, Kumar, Ashwin and Shami all missing the tour of New Zealand, this first bit gets a bit easier for Dravid and selectors.

That is a heck of a lot of the team of the past decade.

I've always assumed there was more to it than that, tbh, but that's based only on the vehement nature of Morgan's determination that Hales would never play in one of his teams again
