Apparently kohli now has the second best 50-100 conversion rate, second only to Bradman.

Koli's innings was masterful. Okay he was dropped twice, when the batting was tricky, but the way he marshalled the strike and took the bowling apart late on, and very nearly got a lead for his side from the desperate position they were in, showed Root exactly what a captain should be doing.

Quite possibly one of the best innings of recent years. Respect!

(is it okay to say that I still don't really like him very much?)

These records are nearly all prefaced with 'second to Bradman'.

Not heard there's been any uneven bounce yet, which would be a big worry for India.

I'm not convinced they will be that fretful about facing Rashid in the fourth innings. Though Mo ran through them a few times last time in England. If they are confident about facing the spinner, that'll be a big advantage for them.

I see that England frittered away their reviews on pathetic calls again. The one time Root refused to refer, it would have been out.... hard being a skip

Root's referral success rate might improve markedly if he completely ignored the bowlers opinion and just went with Bairstow's judgement..... bowlers always think it's out.

100% in England!

He did well but he did survive a couple of dropped catches and run outs, and England reverted to the customary hopelessness when he was managing the tail after tea.

It was Barstow who made him refer the first one, when Jimmy wasn't convinced.

Kohli now also has the third most 100s to innings Percentage. Behind Bradman, of course, and headley....who is 3 percent per innings ahead, but only sustained it for 22 games.

With his unreal one day stats, at what point to we have to say this guy is entering the GOAT conversation

A bit surprised his record is better than the phenomenal Steve Smith. Maybe because Smith had a small blip at the end.

Watching highlights. Karthik's dismissal was surely no better played than any weekend player could manage.

Bad drop from Steely off Hardik.

nobody's perfect, but I still think his success rate would go up

it would be hard for it to go down, of course

when I think about it, was not the first one umpire's call? with the umpire giving it not out for the same reason I would have given it not out... because of the double noise that instinctively made me think there was some bat involved.

so JB1 was not that far out really

but it's meant for the howler, of course... and that wasn't a howler... so fair enough.... nobody's perfect

More interest and excitement in this game than in the white ball games?

Or is it just me?

Stirring to observe V.irate getting booed on but a standing ovation off. And the batter not resenting the welcome as he departed.

Yes, you don't get that with so called 'white ball cricket'.
