Good job from Cox and Root to get the job done without too much fuss after those early wickets. Might have been a bit nervy if Ali hadn't overstepped and it had been 36/3 ! But realistically 130 wasn't going to be too difficult on a pretty placid fourth day pitch.

3-0 so England will be satisfied. Still not sure how much we can take from it because ... well : Pakistan. But after the chaos of the previous two matches against NZ , nice to see a return to more "normal" action.

Just white ball now for a while. Can consider what to do in terms of a squad for SA later but Cox and Lawrence haven't done themselves any harm : Gay still hasn't totally convinced me but reckon he will be persevered with for now. And the bowlers (despite yesterday's mess) look likely to continue as long as they don't get injured .

Robinson's return the biggest plus for the summer. Hope he stays fit and continues to succeed if only to spare us having to read any more of Sussex's gasket blowing

Not sure this 3-0 win offsets the previous series defeat v NZ, and batting can be marked a D at best all summer. Must be Root's worst showing for a while following a mixed Ashes.

Question marks still over how an unbalanced attack will fare overseas. But overall, a convincing win over Pakistan is welcome.

Hopefully this isn't the start of a decline for Root....he's at that age where a lot of the greats start to wane slightly...however in SA at least there won't be much if any of the keeper standing up so he won't have to worry about that....yes you can't gauge much from this series however you can only beat whats in front of you and a series whitewash is always a fantastic result but yeah there are still questions and I'm not convinced about this attack overseas however time will tell...
