I see the Stokes propaganda continues. The BBC accompanied a squad announcement with an interview with Cook saying we can win it, and the Beeb agreed on the basis that we have "such match winners as Ben Stokes"..... Best of 31 in T20, and an economy rate of 9.66.... if anything, he is winning games for the other team

His record with the ball for Durham is pretty appalling, and as a bat he doesnt justify being picked over many more.

But he is Ben Stokes. So I am sure he score a 20 in 9 balls (after giving away 40 runs in 3 overs with the ball) and we will hear how wonderful he is.

Narine doesn't want to take the chance of playing in the World T20, getting called again, and banned from the IPL. He wants to play in the IPL, and hope that all works out....

Pollard is recovering from injury, and wants to be fully fit for the IPL, so why risk it in the World T20?

Carlos is called up...Dwayne Smith for Narine? We already have a spinner in Benn.

I think that weakens the team sufficiently...I now agree that this team will struggle to make the semis.
Nobody has a stance quite like the mighty Shivnarine....

"WICB named allrounder Carlos Brathwaite and offspinner Ashley Nurse replacements for Pollard and Narine, and an alternative for Bravo will be picked soon."

http://www.espncricinfo.com/westindies/ ... 72977.html
:hmmm
Nurse?

Of course, the Bravo that's pulled out is Darren, who IMHO has never been totally comfortable with the T20 format. I would pick Dwayne Smith to replace him....

Everybody else has signed:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-world-t ... 66973.html

Not a bad squad still, even without Narine and Pollard....

Is Narine actually free to bowl? Last I heard, he was cited for throwing?

We will soon see, when the IPL rolls around....

Johnson Charles replaces Darren Bravo in the squad.
