Gooch got a pair on debut of course. So SS still got a lot to do.

And that triple was against England in 2016.

Anyone remember that knock? I don't!

Sardasan averages 39 in FC cricket. Sarfaraz averages 65, in contrast.

Gill averages 35 in Test cricket. Sarfaraz averages 37.

It's puzzling how Sarfaraz can't find a way into this under achieving India side.

Maybe a feeling he likes English bowling!

It was the deadest of rubbers though.

Just for nostalgics, the England attack was Jake Ball, Stuart Broad, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Liam Dawson.

I wonder what that will end up costing?

300s are scored so rarely, I think that the pitch, situation or bowling attack doesn't take away from the achievement.

The incredible thing about Nair is, he scored about 20 runs over the next 5 matches, and looked totally clueless.

Yes, fair enough. Though BCL's 400* got plenty of that.

you surely can't be even remotely surprised... 51 overs by tea even after half a dozen from the spinner

I can't even imagine how many points they'd get deducted in the CC. Even with the extra half hour, they'll be 10 overs short by the end of play

probably works out at a tenner a head that the crowd will be diddled out of. Where's trading standards when you need them?

England really need to bag some wickets this session, because if India end only 2/3/4 down tonight, tomorrow could get ugly when you have 2 pace bowlers busting their gut in this heat, and being backed by two medium-fast bowlers whose have fitness levels made of biscuits nowadays.

Could get very ugly this if England can't halt India this session

India could easily be 320-2 by close of play then England staring down the barrel early doors...little bit of spin but not much else in the pitch....
