3 for 102.

India poor in the field and average with the ball but still take 3 wickets and england also score 100.

Our session imo as its always nice to see 3 specialist batsmen out for 102 runs in first session of day. England should be looking to make use of winning the toss and scoring 400+ at least if not 500+. First innings score have almost always been deciding factor in India as seen over the years in Ranji trophy. i.e. Win the toss , bat first, post a big total, get some lead due to deteriorating wickets and conditions impacting as days progress and then win the game bowling with at least 2 specialist spinners on day 4 and 5.

not sure england getting 500+, they have to bat really well to get 400 as well.
Spread have england getting 360 ish.

I meant England should be ideally looking for a big total batting first in India after winning toss and batting first. Not that they would score 500.

Since England were last in India in 2012, only one visiting batsman has made a hundred here. India have made 15 centuries.

And that hundred came in the very next Test after the conclusion of the England series (Clarke at Chennai). No overseas hundreds in the last 12 Tests. Root will probably change that today though.
