Nepal fall short at the death chasing a low total again. Having restricted Bangladesh to 106 they were 77/5 after 16, then lose their last 5 wickets for 8 runs in 20 deliveries.

There have been some very low scores defended at this WC. 4 scores of under 120, and another 4 between 135-159 also defended. While only two successful chases higher than 155.

This tournament has been remarkably messed up by the weather already. I see there are no reserve days scheduled even for the later stages either so it is likely losing most of its credibility as a proper sporting contest. As DFM says : probably not the best timing for the chosen locations

Just feels like cricket cannot organise a ****up in a brewery. I watch the Euros, and its quality entertainment.... I watch the cricket, and we are playing on sub-standard pitches with outfields that have ranked from dangerous to subpar. But thats what you get when you host a tournament in a country that has zero interest in the game at a time where you expect the weather to be crap.

The thing that most annoys me is that called of game in Florida. We had no rain for 4-5 hours, and the match was called off not long after midday. So what? We decide the outcome of a tournament based on the fact you cant get a game on because of the TV schedule? Ridiculous. And if you cannot get a short game underway after several hours of no rain and 30 degree plus heat, then what on earth are the groundstaff doing? Did they select venues that have zero drainage? Of course, the conspiracy theorist might point out calling off the game at midday in dry conditions made the hosts qualify. Nothing dodgy about that

The quality of the pitches has just lead to rubbish cricket too. I am all for a move away from the IPL like 280 style batting fiestas, but 100 v 85 like that BD game is equally pathetic. Some of the pitches has been impossible for batsman to play any sort of shots on.

In short, now the Euros started I have lost interest. Its been a rubbish tournament.
