James Taylor making the selectors decision to bench him a bit daft here.

50 off 20 overs for these two.

Just undermining the view that no one posts when things are going well...

190 odd runs in a day. The purists like myself will like this dig in approach. A lead is very feasible now, if we can continue.

Athers 'You can see why England were keen to get Taylor into the middle order'..... so keen it took til the last test.

Athers has been pretty poor in this series as a commentator.

0-fer for Zulfiqar so far.

Well done to England, in danger of taking the upper hand here. Taylor looking very impressive against the spin.

A good day for England, let's hope starting on double nelson tomorrow is not an omen. All we need now is good news about the injury to Stokes.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Probably would have saved us in the last Test.

Who would have thought a player with an average near 50 would improve a failing middle order. Obviously a long way to go in his career, but it would be really nice to see him make a 100 here and go to South Africa with that under his belt feeling like he belongs.

Have there been any great tall batsmen? Plenty of short(ish) ones.

Hammond and Viv Richards? Sobers, especially when you consider the general height of batsmen. Graeme Pollock and Greg Chappell as well. However, not many.
