Fifty partnership was scored at not much more than two runs an over.

I suppose you can justify the Kiwis' safety first approach in the first session, but it certainly feels more Andy Flower than Brendon's brand of cricket.

But NZ have a weakened side so maybe these tactics are inevitable. And credit to SA for putting the cork in the bottle.

Suppose they're hoping to bat just once. But it does seem overdone , given the limited time left to force a result.

Great knock by Williamson though.

Got a move on after lunch...thanks largely to CDG. Lead of 175 gives them a chance to pressure SA : certainly only one team can now win.

Incidentally : de Kock , de Bruyn , de Grandhomme , du Plessis...have you ever seen a scorecard with so many de's and du's on it ? Even without cheating with Du...miny :)

De Bruyn will be needing to do better in this innings if he wants to stay part of the brotherhood...at least he's off his pair.

Early blow struck by NZ ...Elgar gone. And you wouldn't say de Bruyn looks too confident against CDG and Henry.

This game could yet have legs ; if the skies over Hamilton can only stay clear for another 24 hours...

Disaster for SA ! The batsmen collide in mid- run and Amla goes sprawling :?

Only good thing for them is that it was de Bruyn who ended up run out so Amla continues ; but at 25/2 they don't need to lose another one anytime soon...

Review against Duminy ! Did he nick it ? No...

I must admit I thought it was likely out live...but the technology proves me - and NZ - wrong. Daylight twixt edge and ball : sound must have come from something else.

SA dressing room will be on edge.

Williamson is a wonderful batsman : but he is a dreadful judge of when to take a review :facepalm

Burned their second review - and that was a total punt. And just 16 overs gone . With the ball spinning a bit tomorrow they may really come to regret that.

And with Amla falling to Patel , SA are looking a bit rocky...

Minus 126/3

SA digging a hole for themselves here ...Duminy gone too.

Four down and still 120 behind

Bavuma out and NZ are apparently heading for a sensational win...

(This watching two games at once is getting a bit frantic !)

Wooo hoo!

Need to separate these two early though. And for it not to rain.

Yeah de and du could still save the day. But if they can be separated , it is just about over.

With the weather always the other player , of course.

The NZ team call Jeetan Patel Dave, I wonder what the story behind that is.
