If NZ can keep the lead to below 100 then they should be pretty happy.

Pitch seems to have flattened out a lot. NZ probably wish they had a spinner. Batting last and chasing 150 might be tough for Aus. With Marsh to come in next NZ will feel like they are into the tail.....

Williamson is due a big score. Voges is due a failure. Australia have a very, very long tail (Pattinson scheduled to bat at 8 in the original line up). Mitch Marsh is useless with the bat in Tests. NZ have a history of 3rd innings batting heroics at home. Still advantage NZ IMO. Australia need a lead of at least 150 to be on parity after the 1st innings, especially with NZ's 3rd innings batting god Watling back in form and Williamson due a biggie. I have still got a terrible feeling about this one. Those late wickets today might end up biting Australia really hard

as far as i can see they are having massive issues with the pitches in new zealand when the weather is good

when there is cloud cover it is fine as the ball swings

but when the sun shines once the first session or two are over the pitches become roads

and the issue is they dont seem to break up and just become gradually more dead as the game goes on

it was only mccullums genius that stopped them from losing both test matches in the first session of the game
