horrible day for me so far, an epic test match so will have to catch up on it and top of that wasn't told to flex up to 11 am so I now have ample opportunity to catch up on the cricket or go to sleep till I go back to work at 3pm and get some sleep hours before a deadly Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
can't believe I be working from 3pm Saturday to Sunday 8 pm with only a 4 hour break between Saturday 11pm and to Sunday 3.30 am.

Will probably catch up on the cricket till 9am and then go to sleep.

lyon is probably right in one aspect one career is likely to end, hard to see how Cook will survive any longer he only really got england having no openers saving him and a player averaging 30-35 in opening will probably be the best player england can have at the moment.

Watched almost the entire day's play.

Anderson and Broad - superb in the morning session.

Woakes and Ball - very disappointing. When they bowled fuller, the duo hardly got any movement. When they pulled the length back, just looked harmless and friendly. Need to lift their game in the second essay.

Steve Smith - He is a phenomenon.

Australia hold the edge but England hanging in there. For all the doom and gloom before the Test, they have fought admirably.

Curious track as once you get in, hard to for the bowler to get you out. But as there is a bit of spongy bounce, difficult to play shots, especially the drive.

England need a better third seamer. Or they need one out of Woakes/Ball to bowl better. I reiterate they bowled such friendly stuff.

Did say ages ago england will have a tough time replacing anderson and broad.
hard to see england taking wickets without them two which would mean england struggling big time to win games and series.
worse part is not many bowlers coming through that are ready in county cricket either.

Very true, GB. In fact, they have had the running of the test for the most of it so far. The last session has been the most decisive so far (imo), and that is one that they distinctly lost, which has put them behind in the test, atm, but there is still plenty of life/hope for them.

The morning session in each of the three days so far has been the batsmens', so it will be very interesting tomorrow.
