Slightly different shape on the read-out for a fly. Tests show that if the ball deflects of a moose, the snicko is very similar to a genuine edge.

That's dedication for you. I know of only one instance when a moose went past the bat in a cricket match. On that occasion it missed the bat but two cats and an anteater caught the edge.
