If they bring in a specialist bat, that could potentially put pressure on Vince and Compton, if he makes runs. I presume Vince will get the whole summer, but it could be tricky if someone came in and got a ton. Alternatively, England have enough batting to bring in a specialist bowler. But Woakes seems possible, unless he's been shelved after his unproductive winter.

Farbrace wasn't giving anything away when interviewed by Atherton. He said Woakes would be the like for like replacement if Stokes isn't fit but also said they could rejig the batting order and include a specialist bowler - presumably Ball?

As long it isn't Barker I don't mind. Chris Wright or Boyd Rankin can bowl a bit but the batting s weakened. If decide on Woakes surely he'll be informed tomorrow before the game starts, in fact he's probably on standby already.

Probably. I was only half listening earlier but think the Sky team said Jake Ball would play 2 days for Notts before joining up with the test squad. If Woakes is selected I'd imagine he'd do the same for Warwickshire.
