I think he can due to the nature of his injury. Could be wrong. I guess he has to bat at 11 though

External injury you can bat wherever you like, internal, you have to bat 7-11. Basically, it's a penalty on players coming into games with injuries. I expect Stokes will be able to bat where he likes, injury permitting.

Given the slow outfield, and the Pakistan tactic of not scoring against the pacemen, this feels like a big led to me.

The rule is you come in after the last recognised batsman if you haven't been able to field which means 9 or 10 in this instance I suppose. Whether it would be wise to given his shoulder should be kept immobilised is another argument.

The rule is you come in after the last recognised batsman if you haven't been able to field which means 9 or 10 in this instance I suppose. Whether it would be wise to given his shoulder should be kept immobilised is another argument.

It's seven or lower unless the rule has been changed very recently. But that still depends on the type of injury.
