a guy poor because he can't get into a team for a format that suits his game.

So you think Soumya is a good long format player, okay.

The toss was a factor in the result, and that went with England. England's lack of cricket in the conditions went against them, as even in BD, short tours and alien conditions make success a struggle for the tourists.

I don't really feel anyone is making the claims you are implying Bhaves. A home win is clearly achievable. An England win, is probably more likely. The result is in doubt.

TBH think most of my rant at Adi.
Not sure why he think england are so far ahead of bangladesh in batting and really got the impression he thinks Bangladesh are even more awful that England batting.

Also quite funny calling Bangladesh not a good side wonder what that makes England then lol considering they only just won a test match.

Winning a closely fought test away from home is a greater achievement than winning games by an innings and 100 runs at home. Which we probably did quite often against BD and India in recent years.

might be wrong but didn't India win at lords in 2014.
be interesting to see if england can win a test in india on the current tour or even get an respectable 3-1 series loss.

It's hardly rocket science to suggest that Bangladesh should be better equipped at home than a non subcontinental team, the fact of the matter is however that despite their improvements they aren't a particularly good side. On a pure skills basis the English batsmen are better than their counterparts, evident by the fact that even though the English spinners aren't all that good and the English batsmen don't play spin all that well, they still beat them.

Only just though so what basis are England favourites in the 2nd test.
The margin was so small that you could conclude the toss was crucial in deciding the game.
So would love to know what people saw in the first test that made them conclude England are favourites in the 2nd test.

I think that over 5 days that base difference in quality makes the difference, if Bangladesh make a pitch that turns sideways from day 1 then they're just as likely as England to get out cheaply on it. Bangladesh have improved a lot over the last few years, but they're always one session off collapsing in a heap.

If they have a very good day they could bury England, but realistically that would be them over performing.

TBH england are also one session off collapsing in a heap.
TBH you could probably say england just saying within touching distance with bangladesh is them over performing.

Its okay if you feel Bangladesh are better batting team, however i do not agree to it. Bangladesh needs to win test matches so that they are considered a good team.

if he plays the shots at the right time and improves his temperament don't see any reason why not, scored runs against Pakistan, India and South Africa.
if he not even getting a look in the side then bangladesh got some seriously good players considering 8 yrs ago he would be one of the main batsman in the team and the fact he will struggle to make the 2nd team says a lot about bangladesh talent and pool at the moment.

Well suspect they close to winning test matches now especially at home, nearly beat england and got one test to go and would definitely beat WI, Zim and probably give NZ a run for they money as well at home.

if bangladesh get the game they will beat teams at home and be ok abroad.

That not to even mention that Bangladesh would beat Australia easily as well.

Apart from improving timing and temperament he also need to stop reducing lofted shots or atleast placing them away from fielder.

Its good that they try to win but what matters is whether they are actually winning . Else they will just compete in a loss.

Well for one teams need to play bangladesh first, isn't it funny that WI don't tour them anymore and that NZ stopped as well although they getting more fixture from other teams so don't really need bangladesh anymore.
I am pretty certain bangladesh are really close to a test win and probably would have done it already if Australia didn't pull out, only a matter of time before someone loses to Bangladesh in a test.
Saying that if they don't beat england in the 2nd test, won't get a better chance again for a long time, not sure there schedule to play any home test for a while, they got mostly Away assignments.

Should be remember bangladesh played so little test in the last 2-3 yrs.
