He's bowling now and has got a couple. Turned the game.
But on the other hand, Mitchell is now batting.

Couple of late wickets swing things back England's way. Given recent history, they will surely fancy chasing anything under 250 (although we know the collapse is always a possibility).
That pair again at the crease now. Get them cheaply, and England will definitely be favourite.

the last couple of times that NZ have come out to bat they've lost a wicket first ball, so we can hope

seemingly, the last England player to take a wicket and score a century on debut was WG Grace.

Potts looked really good on the highlights. I wonder why they left it so long to bring him back for a second spell?

Another day ending with game in balance...
That late collapse undermined what was starting to look like a rather good NZ third innings ; lot on this partnership now. Though since these two seem to have been batting right through June getting them out could be quite a problem for England !
This ground has been quite kind to chasing teams in the fourth innings in recent times , so NZ will want as many as they can get. Looks like a result from here unless we get a lot more weather.

seems like a convenient time to get covid, or am I being too cynical?
I can't help but feel that England really needed to take a very early wicket this morning, which they haven't done. When these two get going they're harder to shift than Johnson....................... and every bit as damaging

Who knows how many England can chase though. The old rules are meaningless.
Well done to these two. Incredible series.

Looks like an low risk strategy from the batters this morning. A stand of nearly 100. Game is interestingly poised, with the new ball now a factor.
