I seem to remember when he scored runs here against Pakistan, with Amir and Asif in the side, the ball was moving around.

It's not a 'bad patch'. It's consistent - in his whole ODI career from 2010 to now, 28 away games, he averages under 20 with a strike rate of under 75. That's not a 'bad patch', it's just bad.

Joe Root's average in away ODIs is over 50 - it's lower in England (where the ball moves), but nowhere near as bad as Smith's.

Kane Williamson has played exactly one ODI in Australia, so it's hardly a statistically significant sample. In England he averages over 50 and in South Africa about 49 (in ODIs). And his average in tests in Australia on the flat decks is over 50. What is your point, exactly?

In away games: average 20.27, SR 68, one fifty and no hundreds from 11 games.

I stand by my comment that he's poor outside Australia when the ball is moving around, especially in ODIs.
