Reckon Australia will take this. They have a winning habit in home ODIs - so many times they come back from difficult positions to win a game. 268 is far more than they should have had. :salute Wade.

For the warmups, this has been standard for years. The PM's XI has become a joke game. Once upon a time it was effectively Australia A. Now it's made up of under 21s and players who can't make their state/BBL first XI. Pathetic.

yeah not sure pakistan have the same depth in their batting that australia do to be able to recover from losing these early wickets

looking like being a comfortable win for australia

didn't expect that a few hours ago when australia were 78-5

the aussies win by 80odd runs

on a day where the australian top order failed and pakistan still get hammered it doesn't set a good tone for the rest of the series

but was delivered a black eye by his skipper - 10 overs (very measly ones) for Head, with no bowling at all for Maxie. 4 wickets for Jimmy.

yeah that was a bit strange, especially when a few of us think that maxwell could be the 3rd spinner in india

11 wickets in 4 games for Cummings since his return to the team.

Please oh please stay injury free.

Head being given the chance to stake his place for India?

So is Marsh with Bailey being dropped. Did not take the chance today.

Faulkner showing what a canny bowler he can be. Interesting to note he does have 100 in ODI in India........

Arthur Crabtree wrote:[Billy's a bit of a throwback. Sounds like someone you'd see on a scorecard from the Victor Trumper era. Why not Ethan, Nathan, Kyle or Kane? Maybe CA is now renaming its players so they'll look more traditional on a commemorative tea towel.

Those new-fangled names are fine (or not) for your city lads, but our young Billy looks like a country lad, so he needs a country lad name.

(can't find where he was born, just a reference to him "being a Coaster", meaning that he lives on the Gold Coast - I don't think that anybody is born on the GC, they just move there)

Michael Clarke was very patronizing about 'Billy' on the commentary.

What sort of things did he say?

Although, Michael Clarke has become very irrelevant, very quickly. Probably faster than any ex Aus captain since Graham Yallop.

been a decent opening spell with the ball by pakistan, got warner hopping around a bit, but got nothing to show for it and without early wickets they could be in real trouble

junaid khan gets a reward after creating a few chances

thats the most uncomfortable i can remember seeing warner at the start of an innings for a little while, dont think he hit anything out of the middle of the bat
