I seem to remember Durham winning a T20 match earlier this year and despite this their NRR got worse, which seems counter-intuitive to my simple brain

It sounds like they had a fairly strong NRR, and the match in question was a close result.

it was early in the season and they hadn't fallen apart at that stage, so perhaps. Obviously they fell apart later
