Great day for the Unzudders. Great resolve, no small amount of skill shown, and huge amounts of guts and perseverence.

Probably NZ's best day of test cricket in Aus since Hadlee was playing.

Must say was a bit surprised when I checked the score this morning. Williamson and Taylor seem to complement each other well, whether it's Tests or ODIs. Yes, great comeback whatever the conditions and wicket.

Luteru Ross Poutoa Lote Taylor's highest Test score. Beating his 217* against West Indies in Dunedin.

Records broken today:

Whatever Taylor ends up on will be the highest score by a New Zealand batsman in Australia.
Taylor is the first visiting batsman to score a double century in Perth.
This is the first instance of two double-centuries being scored in a Test match in Perth
This is the first instance of three 150-plus scores in a Test in Australia.
The partnership between Williamson and Taylor, the highest for New Zealand against Australia
This is the first time where both teams have topped 500 in their first innings at the WACA
Williamson is the first player who has scored hundreds in successive Tests against Australia

The latter isn't true surely?

Didn't Cook get tons at Adelaide and Brisbane in 2010?

Boycott at Trent Bridge and Headingley in 1977.

Good effort by KW, nonetheless.

Sorry...missed out the phrase 'New Zealand' before batsman.

I think New Zealand might feel good with a 120 run lead.

Starc's deliveries looking good out there for this pitch; a shame it is not like the WACA pitches of old. WACA used to be well known for fast pitches; but not so much anymore. This is good; but I've seen much quicker.

His spell I saw was really impressive. He looks so muscular now. Bit of intentional elbow bend in there. It looks like he's worked on taking his pace to another level. And wonderful resistance of it, but Taylor.

Can't really trust the 160k hype? But it was sustained pace, at the back end of a tough day, in pretty hostile conditions, on a nice batting track.

A match-saving innings?

an FL defining innings?

whats happened to the tash? I thought this was supposed to be the only pitch he could bowl well on against any team other than England (who he could bounce out anywhere... even if the match was played in a sand pit)

Surely thats not true? Unless you mean at the WACA.. Aussie pitches are generally pretty good for batting.
