Some of the fielding and bowling in this competition has left a lot to be desired.

Some big games for India coming up too....it's not just England who have big boys round the corner.

West Indies getting absolutely turned over in this tournament despite having one of the stronger womens' setups.

seems to be a big gulf between them as a T20 outfit and a 50 over one

Surprise result today with SA monstering India ...not over yet but India are in a hopeless position.

Five teams contesting four spots : could end up down to run rates.

SA have that NR point which will either save them or doom them

Feel a bit sorry for the Indian Women team.

Unlike their male counterparts they are oftentimes plucky underdogs in ODI competitions but in the last few years have started shaping themselves up into being contenders. Yesterday's result was something from the old playbook.

In my mind I separate Women's ODI teams into a top tier and then the rest make up the numbers. The top tier consists of Australia, England, New Zealand and (despite this tournament) West Indies. India's performance of late has been positioning themselves for a push into the top elite teams and with their record of 4 from 4 before yesterday it looked like the girls were coming of age all at the right time.

India have the skilled players to pull themselves out of this situation but I hope they don't revert to type and collapse in their final few round robin games.

I didn't see the match but it did surprise me . SA were really talking up their bowlers earlier on and until they were absolutely hammered by England they appeared to have some justification for doing so...but I did not expect them to demolish India like that. Must have been a really good wicket for batting and the score they put up just demoralized their opponents ?

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out . SA have the point in hand from a N/R and an "easy" game against Sri Lanka to come while India play the two heavyweights Australia and NZ (as do England ; but they also have West Indies as a game in hand) If there are any more washouts they might be decisive !

Once it gets to knockout of course anything can happen on a day. I think Australia remain favorites but don't think anything is yet written in stone.

good partnership at the end between Brunt and Gunn at least gives us a chance

australia favourites tho given how strong their batting has looked

today would be a good day for shrubsole to turn up

Fifty fifty I think. That's a decent score.

Strange choice to bowl Villani in the fiftieth ? Two wickets ...but thirteen runs .

Interesting.
