A bowling attack containing Pat Cunmins can't be all that bad. Behrendorff is also a consistent performer in Australian domestic limited overs cricket and there is Maxwell too against whom England struggled last year. Early days but this is significant progress since getting rid off the elephant in the room. If the pitches don't turn and Morgan finds some form, this will be a dangerous side.

Falling apart? 110 off the last 10 overs is hardly falling apart. Ok, a few wickets down, but slogging you're always going to lose a few. It is hard to come in and go for the boundary from ball 1.

There's always room for improvement, sending in Root above Morgan and Buttler for example. Interesting stat, if this had been an ODI it would have been England's second highest ODI score of all time, only losing out to the 391 we made at Trent Bridge against Bangladesh back in 2005 when Strauss made 152. Bell's knock would have also been the highest ever ODI score by an English batsmen.

This sde is batsmen heavy, relying on Bopara and Moeen to be front line bowlers. Maybe it will work against this opposition but it looks light against top teams. Maybe the plan is to put all the eggs in the batting basket and hope to outscore the opposition.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

not really , it has 4 specialist bowlers and then needing to get 10 overs out of bopara, moeen and root

don't really see a problem with that

not many teams will be playing 5 specialist bowlers

Only Australia and Sri Lanka have a better 5th bowling combination than England. Maybe India as well but we don't have any frontline bowlers.....

England's real challenge at the WC is for the.frontline bowlers to come good. They ideally need Finn back to his absolute best. Its not coincidence that England were the No.1 ranked side in the world when Finn was the best ODI bowler in the world.

The rule is, you should be able to double your 30 over score, providing you have wickets in hand. Therefore, we're in trouble. Of course, if Maxwell goes soon, then we should be fine.
