Depends if you want fast bowlers running in all day on unresponsive pitches. With Moeen and Woakes in the team, you can pick two spinners and at least keep the pace bowlers fresh for the new ball.

thats where most sides find it handy to have an extra bowler in the top 6 who can bowl.....that's what moores clearly wants..with Root etc..

There are a couple of decent English spinners around, however there was only one in the top 20 wicket takers last year - Riley though he's a kent lad, Rashid returned good figures last year.

In general I would say that the younger batsmen tend to play spin better than their seniors, simply because they've been brought up on T20 where you have to attack spinners. The likes of Lyth, Vince, Taylor are all more than competant players of spin. Patel is another name that springs to mind.

the bowling appears to be similar to getting throw downs in the nets for the England batsmen.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.
