Bad break for SA.
Someone said on twitter that the revised target for NZ chase is this
166 20 overs 230 30 overs 264 38-40 overs.

Far easier chase for new zealand then what they could be chasing if SA batted all 50 overs.

The law in NZ states that every third song played must be a Crowded House song, so it was a good chance to be 4SI1D

I think they need to update the D/L tables after this tournament. But that's only if the rain break is long enough to curtail the game. Still, it would add to the narrative of South Africa's rain rule woes in semi finals...

here the actual tweet.
If rain ended Saffer innings right now, then NZ targets would be 166 off 20 overs, 223 off 30 and 264 off 38 overs

According to crinfo, the game restarts from the current situation tomorrow if there is no more play today.

A fair few have done well in Aus. Not sure about internationally - of course there is Lorde......

Crowded House was an Australian band anyway, kiwis just like to think they were Kiwi - and we let them.

I think they expect a restart today , they apparently have around an hour before they start losing overs so would have to be playing again in around 20 minutes for it to stay a 50 over match

if the SA innings doesn't resume NZ would need 264 from 38 overs to win

Reserve day only comes into force if no result is possible today under D/L. The covers are coming off now, so there should be no curtailment at this stage. or maybe an over or two depending on how long it takes them to restart.

For the first 20 or so minutes of the rain delay Channel Nine showed highlights from and interviews about the two SA/Aus games in the last week of the 1999 World Cup.

I still got excited watching the semi-final :dance

how hard must it have been for the likes of Kluesner and Donald talking to the camera about that calamatous day? Bit cruel of the interviewer, really.
