I thought he was going on a one way cruise with Mark Nicholas to the Arctic. Well that was the rumour that hasn't yet been confirmed.

Very gracious speech from B Mac. Well done him.

Wisely accepted that they did well all tournament, rather that focussing on not doing so well today.

I won't be surprised of this is discussed (and canned) in the public mendia forum over the next few days.

I'm still trying to get home from the game. I'll have a good crow about this in the morning.

Australia won by 7 wickets (with 101 balls remaining). Well done to OZ for a very convincing win. No competition at all today. Thats the way to beat the opponents on your day :clap

Congratulations to the Aussie team and to our friends from down under.

OMG, four years of bragging rights to add to the ashes.

Ultimately the two best sides of the World Cup got to the final, the wheels came off badly for New Zealand on their big day. Most would have hoped for a more closely fought final, but New Zealand have done themselves proud. From an English point of view it is embarrassing that a country with a fraction of our resources has been consistently more successful than us in the World Cup.

Congratulations to the Aussies and all Aussie supporters

I think though, looking back over the whole tournament, that great strides have been made by England which will stand them in good stead for the WC in 4 years time. Expect them to be challenging in 2019
