Watching Porterfield bat I can see why he often gets out on low scores. He plays so far in front of his legs, rather ugly technique.

He's had so many golden ducks for Ireland in recent years.

looks like wood is another bowler built up with have pace who bowls the usual speed of 85-88mph, just like stokes/jordan/plunkett and broad

lets hope that we uncover someone with genuine pace some time soon, gone are the days when we had jones and harmison bowling 150kph with freddie not too far behind

he has looked decent though and a nice first wicket for him

When they were checking no balls in the WI I commented on how wide the popping crease white line was and I see here how narrow it is. Surely there should be an international standard.

Looks like we wont see a great deal of play today.

You've got to feel for the Ireland fans who wait for games like this and then the weather intervenes.

Wood can bowl 150 KPH seen him do in it county cricket, but he does struggle with injuries, also on debut may have been nervous...so lets him give a few games, before we pass judgement on speeds etc..

im convinced the speed guns used in domestic cricket are a tad generous, i remember stuart meaker bowling well over 90mph for surrey then when he played a few ODIs he was mid 80s
