It's ok, I'm going to have a sobering black coffee for every positive reference to Pietersen.

Mildred would replace the coffee with a shot of whiskey and probably only touch the coffee in recovery about two weeks after the series has finished.

A blessing that Mildred got out and lit out for South America ahead of such times as these.

Of course, she'd never have to touch the coffee as the forfeit would never be triggered.

Ha! I can't help but think she's out there somewhere. Some journey's end, rodeo bar. Some gaucho casino. Maybe biding her time in a guest room on some rich man's ranch, thinking about the day she walked out of the mountains with just some unreliable memories and a pocket book with numbers in it for a bank account in the Cayman's.

Has anyone else noticed that just like in 2011, England's two ODI series in the summer following the CWC are against the two WC finalists, in the same order, i.e. the runners up followed by the Champions? They won both those series last time around!

England were doing ok then. Just a bad wc, and ODIs in Australia among generally strong performances in all formats. Things are different now.

batting looks powerful but will be inconsistent

for this team to be succesful root and morgan are going to have to step up and be the glue that holds the hitters at the top and bottom together

i have no doubt root can do that, not so sure about morgan

stokes and buttler in better positions this time as well, can make bigger contributions from 5 and 6
