The best retaliation is to ignore and eventually the immaturity will dry up.

Umps could do with intervening also, they are supposed to be the ones with the balls.

I thought in general the bowlers had the balls Mark?

why do Aus need to drop either the tash or the rhino to fit Starkers into the side, or am I missing something very obvious?

As Rhino has not been in the team that played the Windies, either he stays out of the team (my prediction for the first test) or someone else gets dropped.12 into 11 won't go.

Yep dam Kent :angry

Its amazing that everyone accepts that Hazlewood will play in the first test. I'm happy with it but its hard to believe that he has only played 5 tests and considering how strong the bowling line up is, no one is questioning his place.

It's testament to how good his performance has been, all throughout that tour he was top class, even the warm up games he was bang on the spot. Agreed about SMarsh, I just never feel comfortable with him, especially when he starts his innings. I worry about most players getting out early but I have to watch Marsh through my fingers for the first few overs.

There's a little Watto bashing already from some quarters I see. I do understand where it's coming from but I honestly think he's better than MMarsh.

The Watto bashing probably comes from all the chances he has had. At present he is a better all rounder than M Marsh but Marsh is younger and has potential. Maybe Aus supporters are just feeling that with a aging team it might be time to see some younger players in who probably wouldn't do much worse than what is there.

Wattos tight bowling is probably underrated at present, and thats Something Mitch wouldn't be able to do at present.

When you have a bowling attack of the the quality the Aussies have slip fielding is a vital skill and Watson is a great slip fielder.

The slip fielding will be vital for both teams - could make the difference if both sets of bowlers move it around.

Assuming 3 slips I'd go with Cook, Lyth and Root for England. I think they're probably the best we have assuming Jordan won't be playing. Bell once asked Strauss not to put him there - he's far better at short leg or in the ring IMHO.

Smith and Clarke for Australia - and Watson if he plays?

Thus far both Cardiff tests have followed the rough pattern of 400 plays 600 plays 200 with the tight escape above and the demolition of Sri Lanka

Cook's at it again:

"What is driving us as a side is what has happened over the last six weeks, restoring the pride of English cricket, making cricket feel popular again and enjoying that, enjoying what it has done to people and making stars of people."

That series you had nought to do with, the bulk of the Test side had nought to do with, and under a captain you have publicly said you think you can do a better job than.

I'd guess 'six weeks' incorporates him and the Test draw, into the feelgood.

You'd think that, but in the same interview:

"People are talking about us scoring 400 and chasing down 350 with seven overs to go. And saying "Did you see that shot?" You only had to walk down the street. I think that's what's inspiring this side at the moment."
