Hoping for Footit, don't expect it though.

I'm for Rushworth. Wood is the most likely choice but his average of near 40 coupled with a 62 S/R concerns me. He's taken wickets but one every ten overs means a lot of runs on the board before he strikes.

Anderson and Broad have a strike rate of 58 so it's not that bad. Obviously Wood averages far more but he's only played 4 Tests so it will almost certainly improve.

If they're not picking Rushworth in this situation then hard to see when they will ever do it although he surely will have been under serious consideration.
I have a feeling though that Rocky is definitely on the radar, they may give Lyth the series but if he doesn't get any runs Rocky could well get the call especially if he finishes the season strongly.

I think the worry the selectors have with Rushy is his pace.

He can swing the ball similar to Anderson but he's not as quick.
