It's been a pleasure to watch from both sides so far. Some good, straight bowling early on from England, a very good 4th wicket partnership from the Aussies and sharp throwing resulting in 3 run outs. Good quality cricket all round.

England innings just starting.

The points allocated for wins needs adjusting - imo, of course, but I am not wrong about this.

It's ludicrous to be able to gain as many points for winning 2 x 20 over matches as for winning 1 five day test. I thought this last time.

At the very least, tests should be worth twice ODI's (as they are), which in turn should be worth twice a T20. I thought this last Ashes series.

Of course, there should be more tests - at least three - and that would give more weight in favour of the tests being able to decide the Ashes.

ALSO...... what is the point for awarding points for a draw in the test and the ODI's? Why not award 50,000 points? It would make the same difference.

In the case of a draw in the test, maybe point/s awarded for first innings lead?

The Test was worth 6 points last time but now it's down to 4. Basically because who ever won the Test would almost certainly win the Ashes. I believe both teams prefer this new system.

Taylor unlucky with that lbw decision. Looked to be missing leg stump, especially with the angle. Probably didn't help that she'd been consistently shuffling across her stumps. Won't be easy from here.

Meg Lanning the only batsman to really time the ball this morning..

75-1 after 20 overs.. 50 partnership between Bolton and Lanning... after Charlotte Edwards won the toss and chose to bowl on a slow surface...very hard to time strokes on
